The university itself as well as societies within it organise a lot of trips and day trips all over Ireland (and Northern Ireland). Glendalough is just in a nearby county so not at all far from Dublin. Although nothing is ever very far away in Ireland as it is so small compared to countries like Australia where you have to be very enthusiastic about too many hours in a car or fly places. I would recommend flying places unless you make stops! But on to Glendalough, it is a valley in County Wicklow formed by a glacier and there is a picturesque 6th century monastery there too. The scenery was incredibly beautiful as you can see for yourself, I'd say something you ought to see if you are in Ireland. There are a LOT of images in this post but it was such a beautiful place I couldn't get rid of any.
Everything is so very green
Dully attired as per usual in my present situation. I did bring a few nice things with me but there isn't an awful lot of variation, I'm always tempted to buy clothes but I must resist! Firstly, money. Secondly, I'm already going to have too much stuff to deal with when I finish class in May. I will probably buy some summer clothes when it heats up in Europe (not Ireland, never Ireland!), as I brought only a few things for summer and I don't fly home till July!
Right as we were leaving the sun came out, typical! But at least I have one sunny photo for show.
This place looks amazing, just like a fairytale! I love all those frogs, haha.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Ireland, but what I loved about Europe was that there's so much to see in a relatively small area - the opposite of Australia.
Stunningly atmospheric. I have fond memories of the fairy tale esque qualities of the forest around Limerick Castle and these photos capture similar. Love the little froggies!
ReplyDeleteTHESE PHOTOS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. xxxx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! And you are not dully attired. Traveling is all about practicality when it comes to clothes, and you look chic!
ReplyDeletethat's probably the only thing i don't like about travelling - that you always have to watch what you buy because you have to be able to fit it all into your suitcase! but it's definitely something worth sacrificing for the sake of such a wonderful trip. lucky you. :)

These are such lovely pictures!! Haha I know what you mean-I'm planning on moving to a new place at some point in the new future, so I've decided to stop buying anything that is not absolutely essential until I finally make the move. Which will be an additional motivator to start moving and finding my new home as well. It's so tough sometimes!
